Miramar is a small town located about 10 km south of Porto, in the municipality of VN Gaia. It is one of the quietest beaches near the Greater Porto. Sometimes the only noise is the birds. In addition to the magpie, there are several green parrots in the street trees. The main characteristics of the beach include an extensive sand, a relatively calm sea and a beautiful chapel built on top of rocks, providing an incredible landscape at sunset. In the last century, the houses, still existing, were beach houses of the bourgeoisie of Porto. Nowadays houses have become permanent homes because there are better access roads to Porto, more people have cars and there has been a modernization of the railway.
